Ride-A-Test Clinic

Get a jump on the competition! Join us for this wonderful opportunity to increase your dressage performance with our Ride-A-Test Clinic with Janice Holmes. Tests available from Intro through 3rd Level, and western dressage from intro through Level 1. If higher levels are needed, please email first.

Clinic Format

Riders have 2 options for their clinic time:

  1. Ride the test of choice. Janice will then take some time to work on specific movements to improve how they're ridden. Then ride the test a second time for a comparison, or
  2. Bring a recently scored test to use as the basis for what the work time will focus on. Then ride the test for the comparison.




  • First Dressage Test - $25
  • Each additional Test (per rider) - $20
  • Stabling - extremely limited - $35 - stalls MUST be reserved in advance and MUST be left clean.


Refund Policy

  • Full Refunds will be given for withdrawals prior to June 25.
  • Refunds minus office fee will be given for withdrawals after closing date that can be filled from wait list.
  • Stabling will be refunded if cancelled by Thursday, June 29.
  • In the event the clinic must be cancelled due to extreme weather or other "act of God", refunds will be given after non-refundable expenses are covered.


Coggins Requirement

All horses on the grounds of any SVF show are required to have proof of a negative coggins within 1 calendar year of the show. Coggins may be mailed with entry, emailed prior to the clinic, or brought to the clinic the day of. Failure to have a current negative Coggins will result in the horse being required to leave the farm grounds immediately. Failure to leave the grounds when requested due to lack of negative Coggins will result in farm management calling the authorities.


About Janice Holmes

Janice is a USEF licensed "r" eventing judge and USEA Level 2 ICP instructor. She has competed through 3rd Level Dressage and 2* Eventing. In addition she has coached riders through their Bronze Medal, trained horses and rider through 3* Eventing, and has had some of her coached riders compete at the Western Dressage Nationals through Level 1. She is the co-chair of the MSEDA Officials Training committee, responsible for pre-licensing training of MSEDA officials. Janice is also a huge supporter of the Novice and Training Classic 3-Day Events and can be seen annually as a volunteer at the Kentucky CCI****. She has been described as kind and understanding enough for youth and adult amateurs (her special interest) but "intense" enough for professionals. Janice owns and operates Holmestead Stables in Mildford, OH.


Limited number of permanent stalls are available on the grounds. They MUST be reserved in advance (by Thursday, June 29th, on first come, first served basis) and they MUST be left clean. Corncob bedding may be in the stalls.

Serenity Valley Farm, 2119 S. Union Rd, Dayton OH 45417
From Dayton, take Hwy 35 west towards Eaton. Be sure and stay on 35 West as it will make a right turn (going straight will take you to St Rt 49 North). Turn left (south) on Union Road. Farm is on the right, approximately 1/2 mile south of the 4-way stop at Dayton-Liberty Rd (approx 2 miles south of Hwy 35). Parking will be in the field BEFORE the farm driveway.

From south, take Union Rd north approximately 3.5 miles from the intersection with St. Rt. 4. Farm is on the left, approximately 1/2 mile north of the 4-way stop at Dayton-Farmersville Rd. Parking will be in the field AFTER the farm driveway.
